Roxanne is a favorite instructor who comes LOADED with new ideas, tools and techniques and 2024 promises to be no different.

I’m in! Sign me up! Register here.

Are you someone who needs a new lease on your art-making practice? This workshop is where you will find that.

Are you someone who needs a place and time to practice your art without your day-to-day interruptions? The beauty of Tuscany is waiting for you!

Are you someone who would like to learn to sketch and paint? Roxanne is your kind of instructor – she will get you creating in a flash! AND you will be amazed at your results!!!

This is a workshop for all levels of painters, from beginner to experienced artists – Roxanne works equally well with all. For newer painters, it’s a very good idea to be immersed in a group of varying levels – you will learn even more by being surrounded by other artists. We are an inclusive community and you will feel welcome. And we keep the groups small, so you will have plenty of time with Roxanne.

For the more senior painters, this is an opportunity to pick up new tips and tools from Roxanne, all while being in one of the most inspiring and beautiful areas of Italy. Plan on bringing your painting stool because you will be painting in some panoramic locations!

During the workshop, Roxanne will share her experience and expertise with you using learning modules, either in the studio or en plein air. Roxanne will break down the sometimes-daunting watercolor process into bitesize steps that will give you all the tools you need to create memorable and lively sketchbook pages that will become a beloved recollection of your trip as well as a tool box of skills you can then use to move forward in your art practice, whether it be drawing, sketching or painting.

Roxanne is an experienced traveler and workshop presenter and has been painting for many years. She honed her skills while painting in oils and studying with many exceptional teachers, including some of the original Disney artists. Now she invites you to come along on a journey of discovery.

She has created a workshop that will guide you through the basics of watercolor, color mixing, value, and composition. She will show you how to capture the feeling of the place you are painting in a simple, straight forward method.

And for those who imagine all watercolor turns to “mud brown” she will demonstrate the best ways to keep your colors fresh and vibrant.

During your time here, we will also wander through medieval villages, gathering material for our sketchbooks while experiencing the sites of ancient walled cities. You will have the chance to visit new beautiful villages, churches and markets, all the while using your “artist’s eyes” to refine your compositions. And while we’re at it, we will savor the smells of local sausages, cheeses, olive oils, and herbs and will be tempted to taste the local products so lovingly and painstakingly prepared in time-honored, traditional ways. You will meet the locals: artists, artisans and craftsmen/women who carry on their family’s traditions today.

We have several places on the agenda that Roxanne’s students have not visited before…so dust off your traveling shoes and get ready to share in an inspiring adventure that will keep you motivated to paint upon your return to home! You will be so glad you did!
