“Teamwork makes the dream work” Bang Gae
Meet your instructors and other important members of our team. We are all dedicated travelers and enthusiastic about giving you a painting workshop that you will remember for a lifetime. Each year we create a workshop schedule that brings together great teachers, unforgettable locations, and loads of fun.
All you need to do is show up and create. Everything else is taken care of for you. That’s the “Dream” that has powered this business from its birth. Come, relax, make art, and meet cool people. You will have a DREAM of a holiday that you will never forget!
Bev is one of the newest additions to the team. She comes to us from Vancouver, WA, USA, where she has been teaching for 25 years. She is a delight to be around and the number of students who weekly pass through her studio doors testifies to that. Her work has been published in Northwest Artists – A Collection of Works by Notable Northwest Artists.
Bev is proficient in oil, watercolor, and drawing and is a very empowering teacher. In 2017 she will be leading a workshop entitiled, Ink and Watercolor Journals in SW France. This workshop is open to all levels of artists, from beginner thru professional, and will focus on capturing the essence of the scene in a journal format, for the purpose of developing larger paintings later. Bev will instruct on her method of developing a preliminary pencil sketch into a finished ink and watercolor sketch that is equally charming in and of itself, making your sketchbook a treasure that you will re-visit again and again, not just for reference for painting, but as a joyful reminder of your time in France.
You might not see her on your retreat, but Caroline is my think tank, generating the best and most useful ideas to make Lisa’s Gryphon the place to go when you are considering an art holiday. It’s her critical eye and breadth of practical experience that makes her my “Go-To Gal” when I am thinking of changes. Not only is she a great business woman, but she is an inspiring and talented photographer as well. And if you ever have a chance to travel with her in Amsterdam, she’ll make darn sure you don’t get run over by a bicycle.
This is Dominique, our “elfen-like” hostess and guide to the best plein air sites in the region. She is also the chef of our delicious regional meals and you will fall in love with her! She is an absolute gem and will be your tutor as you practice your French. No worries, she’ll be right there with us, practicing her English! Formerly a teacher, Dom is a delightful and knowledgeable resource for “all things French” and loves making HER home, YOUR home while here!
Lisa has been an artist ever since she began coloring on paper napkins as a child, and more likely, even before that. A multidisciplined artist, she has worked in textile, both embellishment/painting and construction, surface decoration in the form of murals and trompe l’oeil finishes, sculpture and casting. Most recently she has developed a fascination for watercolor.
