Desarae’s Pen & Ink Drawing workshop will be held in the heart of Tuscany, in a 500-plus year old villa, which has been in Giuseppe’s family for generations. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as well as a working olive farm, but it will be our home-away-from-home for 7 days. We will have access to all the wonderful sites, via our drivers, Remigio and Vincenzo, who have grown up in the region and know all the best places to see and discover.

Each bedroom is charmingly decorated and large enough for two people to share easily. Single supplements are limited, but available on a first-come, first-reserved basis. There is a studio for 24-hour use and our meals will be served daily in the large dining room.

The owners, Giuseppe and Paula, will be happy to give a tour of their ancient cantina (wine cellar), as well as recommendations for outings. There are so many fabulous areas to visit, it’s likely you will choose to come back again. The art in this area is rich and varied, and the food is delectable. Perhaps we will visit a winery or a 1000-year-old abbey on one of our jaunts. But you don’t have to travel far to see amazing things: our home is nestled right under the watchful gaze of Contignano, a tiny village of only 300 people, built in the 800’s and just a few minutes from the Radicofani fortress ruins.

This is an all-inclusive holiday, which means everything is provided for you, with very few exceptions.

Included for your pleasure are:

• All accommodations for your stay. Double occupancy is recommended, but a very limited number of single supplements are available.) Rooms are typically en suite.
• Meals included: daily continental breakfasts, 4 lunches, 4 dinners. Special dietary requirements are honored when possible.
• Aperitif daily.
• Wine with meals.
• Ground transportation to and from the Florence Peretola International Airport on specified days and times. (Do NOT make your air reservation until the workshop is confirmed. You will be advised ahead of time.)
• All day trip transportation and entrance fees to sites, when required.
• Daily instruction by Desarae.
• Unlimited use of the studio.

What is not included:

• Your airfare or travel insurance.
• Your chocolate and spending money.
• Alcoholic beverages over and above the usual mealtimes.
• Gratuities to our service staff, driver and chef
• Any additional extended stays in the area outside the schedule of this workshop.

The rate of this creative holiday is $2599.USD and based on double occupancy. Or you may reserve your spot with a deposit and subsequent payments. Single supplements are available on a first come, first paid basis and are subject to availability by adding the single supplement amount of $700 to your registration.

Desarae has been a big hit with our students because of her kind and thoughtful teaching style. She gives  great instruction and valuable feedback based on the individual’s experience. You will build your skill set while spending time falling in love with one of the most beautiful areas in Italy! Your artwork will prove it!
