Join the fun! Create your own unique Bargello Infinity Vest with Award of Excellence winner and the Infinity Vest designer, Lisa Statkus. Your creative holiday begins in Florence, where Lisa will meet you at the airport and transport you to your home-away-from-home, La Montalla, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and working olive farm. This 500+ year old villa has been in the owner’s family for several generations and has been lovingly maintained and renovated, while retaining its ancient charm.

Over the next 10 days, Lisa will share her technique and tips, and work alongside you as you create your own, one-of-a-kind wearable art-piece, in the form of her unique Bargello Infinity Vest. She will provide all instruction and guidance so that in 10 days you will go home with a completed vest. Amaze your family by bringing home a completed garment, not just more fabric!

This vest incorporates Bargello quilting in 3 dimensions with the addition of a Möbius Continuum design that winds itself around the vest in a harmonious blend of your colors. And it’s reversible!

“La Montalla is the place for a project like this,” Lisa says. “The beauty of the Tuscan landscape is literally right outside our doors! The surrounding hills and olive groves, the medieval villages, history, and art, are all so inspirational and affirming! You can’t help but be creative here! And,” she quips, “no woman in her right mind would EVER undertake a project like this in her own world! It would most likely result in a some kind of murder/suicide!”

Everything is provided for you, with the exception of your vest fabrics: sewing machines, tools, rotary cutters, patterns, batting, irons and ironing boards, etc. Your fabric requirements will be sent out with your welcome packet upon receipt of your registration.

This is a working holiday, but we make time for day-tripping in the surrounding areas to savor the regional cuisine and wines, see the sights and visit the shops and open air markets. We might picnic at the castle ruins right up the hill from our villa. Orvieto, Pienza, and Siena are all possible outtings for us as well.
