Larnagol, the Lot Region, SW France

This year’s Teacher Invitational was such a success, it is back again for 2017!phone camera dump Market Day Cahors 2015 france 101

Have you been considering the possibility of hosting your own international workshop in either France or Italy?

This is your opportunity to come to our facility and see exactly what your students would experience on your own workshop: the accommodations, the meals, the day-trips. The only thing missing is YOU and your instruction!

You will have a chance to relax and imagine your own 10-day art holiday, surrounded by the beauty and sites of the Lot region of SW France. You will be welcomed by myself and Dominique, our hostess and chef at the Toulouse Blagnac Airport on Monday, the 15th of May.

From there, we will transport you to your home-away-from-home in Larnagol, a small village about 30 minutes West of Cahors. After settling into your rooms, we will offer you refreshment and you’ll have an opportunity to meet and chat with the other art teachers. Dinner will be served later, and you can snuggle down into your comfy accommodations for the night.

The next day, the real fun begins. We will escort you to various sites and scenic treasures. You’ll have an20130710_161047 opportunity to preview the many plein air locations that surround us in this bucolic location on the River Lot, under the protective gaze of the Chateau Cenevieres, another of our tour stops. Included in our usual holiday schedules are the incredible Pech Merle caves, 29,000 year-old prehistoric paintings, as well as St Cirq la Popie, a medieval hilltop village with incredible vista views and shops to wander, all very close to us. We might take in a wine tasting at a local chateau, a truffle tour and tasting with a REAL truffle-sniffing dog, “Cuddles” and her handler, Mariefrance, or a walk along the Bouzies path, with its hidden rock sculpture mural.

The wisteria and other spring flowers, including Iris, will be in full bloom, so be sure to bring your camera and iPhones/iPads to capture the incredible beauty of this area. You’ll be amazed at the flowers that abound here in the Spring!

You’ll have opportunities to brainstorm with Lisa about the marketing of your workshop. She’ll share tips and strategies for filling to capacity, as well as devising the right itinerary for your personal workshop, based in part on your medium, preferences and goals.

There will be plenty of time to wander the valley and villages, so you may choose to bring your own paints andVista View fr Chateau Geneviere sketching supplies, as well.

As a teacher from the last Invitational said, “It was the most awesome experience to see all the sights and the follow up discussions as to how it could work into the art (ink/watercolor painting and journaling) I would be sharing with others.  Getting to know Lisa and Dominique was a great experience as well.”

This is a reduced price opportunity for you to experience first hand everything your students will enjoy in a relaxed and informative atmosphere. I hope you will join us in 2017 for the Teacher Invitational.
