The Fine Print Page

This document outlines what Lisa’s Gryphon Art and Travel (” LGAT”) agrees to provide when you sign up for one of our painting holidays and what you agree to do in return.

Tour Price Guarantee: Our tour prices do not include airfare, and are subject to change without notice due to the unpredictability of currency rates and trip costs. However, your price for your painting holiday will be locked and guaranteed the moment we receive your initial payment.

Included in your creative holiday: Pickup and drop off at a specified airport, at a specified time for arrival and departure dates. All ground transportation to planned excursions. Entrance fees to sites. 10 nights’ accommodations in family-owned gites and villas. 10 breakfasts, 7 lunches and 9 dinners with local wines. Daily  instruction.

Itineraries are subject to change: Europe is full of surprises and we need to be flexible enough to take advantage of whatever comes along so that we can provide you with the best possible painting holiday. Uncompleted portions of a trip itinerary are not cause for a refund.

Tour payments: To hold a space on a painting holiday, you must agree to the Fine Print here and make the deposit specified on the workshop page, with a credit card through our secure website. We do not accept credit card information over email. If you make a deposit, the balance is due 120 days prior to the workshop start date, unless specified otherwise on the registration page for that workshop. When we have received your deposit or initial payment, we will send you email confirmation and your balance due date. Please write your due date on your calendar. Missing the final payment due date may result in your being removed from a creative holiday. If you sign up for a painting holiday less than 60 days before the workshop start date, the entire price must be paid, and is non-refundable. Because the cost of our tours are calculated early and shared by all participants, our workshops are non refundable and we require travel insurance to cover the entire cost of your workshop. Please be sure you are committed to attending the workshop prior to registering  and see additional details in your registration packet.

Returned Checks: If a payment to Lisa’s Gryphon Art and Travel is returned for any reason, we will assess a $35. returned item fee per occurrence. The fee(s) will be added to the balance and must be paid in full prior to your departure.

Cancellations and Refunds: Deposits for painting holidays are refundable for one week from the date they are received, minus processing fees. No other exceptions. Cancellations must be made in writing via email to: Info@LisaStatkus.com or mailed to Lisa’s Gryphon Art and Travel, PO Box 955, Sumner WA 98390. Cancellations become effective on the date they are received by Lisa’s Gryphon. There are no other refunds.

If We Cancel a Tour You Have Reserved, the entire amount you have paid to Lisa’s Gryphon Art and Travel (LGAT) for the painting holiday will be returned to you within 14 days after the holiday’s cancellation, as required by WA State law. Or, you may choose to transfer to a different painting holiday, if space is available within that same calendar year. Once this has occurred, LGAT and its representatives have no other obligation to holiday guests on cancelled trips including additional costs or fees related to the issuance and/or cancellation of airline tickets or other travel reservations. It is always our prerogative to hold or cancel a workshop. If, in the rare and unexpected case that an instructor is unable to lead his/her workshop for any reason, we will attempt to find a suitable replacement.

We now require and strongly recommend that you add trip insurance for the full value of your trip, to cover possible unexpected emergencies (airline tickets, loss of luggage, trip delay, medical emergency, pandemic, etc.) Things do happen as we have witnessed in 2020.
