As Previously Mentioned, It Called to Me and I Couldn’t Say “No.”

Roxanne Steed’s  “Cleanliness is Next to Godliness”Ipad Photos 2013 Oct 003

As I stated in my earlier post, this sweet little painting rocked my world when I first laid eyes on it, during Roxanne’s art holiday show last year. There was such a pure quality to the light captured on the laundry stretched across the line. It was simple, but said so much…I could almost smell the clean cottons. The way the light hit the tree…it was such a sight. It makes my heart big every time I look at ( I should say, “gaze on” because there’s so much delight to be had there…) this painting…

If you are wanting to capture light in your paintings, I encourage you to join Roxanne and I on your own art holiday this May 2nd for 10 days in the beautiful Lot region of SW France.

You will have the opportunity to observe, learn and create your own watercolor journal, a one-of-a-kind memento of what might be your most rewarding, creative workshop yet. Roxanne has acquired her skills over years of painting, practice, and study and now she will share them with you over the course of your 10 day, all-inclusive painting holiday. You will hear from her first-hand how she captures the essence of the scenes around her, how she views her subjects and subjectively records what is most meaningful. You will have  one-on-one time with her as well, since the groups are kept small (6-12 maximum).

All of this in a 200+-year-old, and tastefully remodeled French farmhouse. Did I mention, everything was included? Yes, all the meals (with 1 or 2 exceptions) are included, as are your accommodations and ground transportation, to and from Toulouse International Airport. Additionally, all scheduled day trips are included, both transportation and entrance fees, where required. We quite often spend 1 day at the fresh open-air market, taking in the sights and smells of the local produce and dairy offerings. You can imagine, the cheeses and wines are amazing! And don’t forget the sausages! Good grief, who knew there was such a thing as boar sausage! (It was delicious, by the way…)

We will have ample opportunity to take in the beauty of the surrounding areas, and you will be recording your visual reflections as you go. This is going to be SUCH a FUN workshop. Don’t miss it! Sign up today to reserve your spot. And check back to see my interview with Roxanne.  She’s lovely.
